Why change is the only constant

I'm a big fan of anything, everything about the universe, space, galaxies, black holes, neutron stars, etc. Recently I came across an Instagram page with an animation about how the planets in our solar system orbits the sun. The sun in turn orbits the Milky Way (space junkies out there correct me if I'm wrong here) and the Milky Way is also moving as a result of the expanding universe. Closer to home, we're sitting in our chair on a planet that is spinning at a rate of roughly about 1000 miles per hour. What does this all mean? It means we're constantly changing our physical position relative to the entire universe every second. Change then, IS the only constant.
The economic and business landscape also change with time. The speed by which information is now able to travel within mere minutes, if not seconds across the globe, changes everything. It changed the way we buy things. It changed the way we pay for things. How we market our business. How we engage potential clients and customers, potential partners, potential buyers so on and so forth.
The entire ecosystem of the internet has allowed this blinding speed of information travel. The infrastructures built in and on this ecosystem further exponentiates the availability of information to almost instantaneous. We are in the era of exponential change where there is not a shred of a doubt, change is the only constant.
How then do businesses respond to this situation? In my experience, it came down to this one word: ADAPTABILITY
In the era of exponential change where change is truly the only constant, to stay in the game, businesses have no other choice but to be able to adapt quickly, rapidly and timely.
